About ToolkitCalculator

Who We Are

ToolkitCalculator is a free, professional-grade calculation platform built for the people who need accurate numbers to make real decisions. We build tools for patients checking their health metrics before a doctor's appointment, for students calculating their GPA the night before graduation, for first-time homebuyers running mortgage numbers before an offer, and for truck drivers verifying HOS compliance before pulling out of a dock.

We launched in 2025 with one conviction: the calculation tools that matter most in people's lives—health, finance, education—were almost universally mediocre. Generic formulas, no citations, no expert review, and no honest acknowledgment of their limitations. We decided to fix that.

Every tool on ToolkitCalculator is built on a named, peer-reviewed formula. Every result is traceable to a source. Every YMYL (health and finance) page is reviewed by a qualified professional before it is published. And every calculation runs entirely in your browser—we do not store, transmit, or analyze your personal data.

Our Mission

To give every person access to the same quality of calculation tools that professionals use—without paywalls, without accounts, and without complexity.

A BMI calculator that explains the AMA's 2023 position on its limitations. A mortgage calculator that shows you the total cost of your loan, not just the monthly payment the lender wants you to focus on. A GPA calculator that tells you not just your number but what it means for medical school, scholarships, and Dean's List eligibility. A split sleeper berth calculator that explains the regulation in language a tired trucker can actually use at 11pm.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to on every tool.

What Makes ToolkitCalculator Different

Named formulas, not "our own" algorithms.

Every calculation on this site traces to a published, peer-reviewed source. Our BMI calculator uses the World Health Organization classification system. Our Ideal Weight calculator uses the Devine formula published in Drug Intelligence and Clinical Pharmacy in 1974. Our sleep calculator is based on the validated 90-minute NREM/REM cycle model referenced in StatPearls and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine guidelines. We name our sources because you deserve to know where your numbers come from.

Expert review before publishing.

Every health tool on this site is reviewed by a board-certified medical professional before it goes live. Every financial tool is reviewed by a qualified financial analyst. We do not publish a calculator until a relevant professional has verified the underlying formula, validated the output against clinical or industry benchmarks, and approved the content for accuracy.

Privacy by architecture.

Every calculation on ToolkitCalculator runs entirely within your browser. Your height, weight, income, mortgage balance, GPA, and every other input you provide is used to calculate your result and then it is gone. We do not transmit your inputs to our servers. We do not store your calculation history. We do not sell, share, or analyze your personal data. This is not a policy we enforce, it is an architecture we built.

Honest about limitations.

We are the only free calculator site that proactively tells you when our tools have important limitations. The BMI calculator explains why BMI is an imperfect screening tool and links to the AMA's 2023 policy change. The ideal weight calculator explains that IBW formulas were designed for drug dosing, not fitness goals. The AP score predictor explains exactly why it can only provide an estimate, not a guaranteed result. Honest tools build trust. Overconfident tools cause harm.

Our Formula Verification Standards

Before any calculator publishes on ToolkitCalculator, it passes through a four-stage verification process:

01

Stage 1: Source identification.

We identify the primary peer-reviewed or regulatory source for every formula. We do not build calculators from secondary sources, aggregators, or sites that themselves do not cite primary literature.

02

Stage 2: Formula validation.

We implement the formula and validate its output against published worked examples from the primary source. We also cross-validate against at least two independent reputable implementations where available.

03

Stage 3: Expert review.

For health tools, a board-certified physician reviews the formula, the output interpretation guide, the clinical limitations section, and any content making health claims. For financial tools, a qualified financial analyst reviews the methodology, the output interpretation, and any content making financial claims. The reviewer's name, credential, and review date are displayed on every tool page.

04

Stage 4: Citation display.

Every tool page shows the primary source citation for its formula. For regulated financial tools, we cite the relevant IRS publications or agency guidance. For clinical tools, we cite the primary research publication or institutional guideline. For regulatory tools (such as the FMCSA-based split sleeper calculator), we cite the specific federal regulation with a link to the official source.

Financial Tools Review

Our financial calculators are reviewed by qualified financial professionals for formula accuracy, regulatory compliance with current IRS and industry standards, and appropriate presentation of financial information. Financial tool reviewers verify that all rate data, tax brackets, contribution limits, and financial formulas reflect current official sources including IRS Revenue Procedures, Freddie Mac rate surveys, AAMC data, and other authoritative financial publications.

Editorial Standards

Accuracy over engagement.

We do not write content designed to tell users what they want to hear. If a formula has known limitations for certain populations—as BMI does for athletes or Asian Americans—we explain those limitations prominently, not in a footnote.

Current data only.

We review and update our tools and content whenever the underlying standards change. IRS bracket updates, new FMCSA regulations, WHO guideline revisions, and College Board scoring changes are reflected on the relevant pages as soon as they are confirmed.

No advertising influence.

ToolkitCalculator does not accept advertising, sponsored content, or affiliate partnerships that influence our tool recommendations or content. Our tools recommend no products, services, or providers. Our content is written to inform your decision, not to direct it.

Educational purpose.

Every tool on this site is provided for educational and informational purposes. We do not provide medical advice, financial advice, legal advice, or any other form of professional consultation. For personal health and financial decisions, always consult a qualified professional.
